Summary

Stellantis temporarily laid off 900 U.S. workers at five Midwest plants due to production pauses at Canadian and Mexican assembly sites, prompted by new tariffs.

Plants in Windsor, Ontario (4,500 workers) and Toluca, Mexico (2,400 workers) will close for up to a month.

Stellantis warned of further impacts, citing market uncertainty.

The United Auto Workers union criticized the layoffs as unnecessary, despite supporting the tariff policy. Canadian union Unifor also condemned the move, warning of immediate harm from tariffs before they officially take effect.

Leopards meet faces.

The affected US employees work at five different Midwest plants: the Warren Stamping and Sterling Stamping plants in Michigan, as well as the Indiana Transmission Plant, Kokomo Transmission Plant and Kokomo Casting Plant, all in Kokomo, Indiana.

These are the low information voters (both Democrats and Republicans) who wanted Tariffs.

I can't wait for the mental gymnastics about how iTs waS tHe liBRulS.

I know a few faceless people that previously worked for a local V.A. office. One of which just got married to a nice lady in Thailand who was about to move here. (Nope. That ain't happening now.)

It just amazes me how people can champion for fucking up their own lives.
