I am staring in disbelief. We used to explore space. Now we finance glorified firework and make chicken toothpaste.
Tbf we still explore space
I mean, scientists still study space. We still send out probes and build telescopes. But do we really explore?
And I don't mean manned missions - I mean at one point the world explored space as a proxy for war. Afterwards, we even came together to continue to a lesser extent... Now Musk is rushing the decommissioning of that aging monument early
What happens when the ISS comes down?
The world used to watch missions as a celebration of our species, but now we just get click bait articles about what other people found... What's left of we don't even have people leaving the atmosphere?
