In the space of about 300 years the captital was moved four times. The last capital, Harran, was only the captital for the last three or so years of Assyria, after the larger cities were burned to the ground by the Neo-Babylonians and the Medes.
It's kind of amazing how fast Assyria declined from its peak
I was going to put something about asking "which time period?" to get the keeper launched off the bridge, but thought it would dilute the joke. ๐
