One of my sister's friends was a world class rock climber with a missing leg and always said something similar, that he had some advantage because he weighted 15Kg less.

Rock climbing I imagine is lot more about hands than legs, so that sounds plausible, if 15kg penalty is not overweighted by having 1 more leg.
