Wow, it’s another boy. There must be something wrong with him if he’s only able to “sire” (birth sex) boys

If all his at least more recent kids are IVF as rumored then I would entirely expect him to select for XY embryos because it is "manlier" or some such bs. Anyway as each kid is a separate 50% chance for XX and XY it is still quite possible for this to occur naturally just low probability to occur in a row and we know nothing about whether any miscarriages have occurred to his "partners".

I was talking about this with some friends the other day and I was made to look ignorant as apparently it's simple to 'select' a boy if you are conceiving IVF, is that not the case?

[–] phdepressed@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yes, you can select XX or XY relatively easily in IVF. You don't have to and get charged more if you do though.

It is probably for the best, he is less likely to rape it.

Don't make assumptions

What other verb definition of "sire" did you think we were going to infer?

[–] blakenong@lemmings.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Wrong intention but thanks for the feedback

Still curious why you felt the need to include the definition of an unambiguous word.

[–] blakenong@lemmings.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

What do you mean include the definition? Are you referring to the parentheses or the quotes?

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world -2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Please go look up the definition of "definition" before we continue.

I assume you won’t tell me which part you mean because you’ve re-read the sentence and feel like a fool for misunderstanding it.

The “sire,” in quotes, is a jab at musk because no doubt he feels his dick is magical and to be appreciated. Rather than him just doing the most basic male reproductive task of knocking someone up.

The parenthesis has nothing to do with the word sire. It is not a definition. It is a parenthetical aside about my upcoming comment that he has nothing but boys.

He has one trans girl. So he has all birth sex boys.

In your defense, parenthesis can be hard to understand in the sleepy morning, during a doom scroll, when all you want to do is lash out at someone and make them feel bad in an attempt to get that sweet rush of being worth something.
