So as many are aware the DNA testing company 23 and me has declared bankruptcy and users data is at risk of being sold off to the highest bidder. This thread is for discussion about this debacle

I am glad I did my research before testing with any DNA testing company, taking in advice from genealogists and genealogy youtubers who all said "test with established companies like ancestry or myheritage". Also, the principle of "don't use companies that mass-advertise on youtube creators videos" seems to hold again.
