Yeah they said this several years ago with the super duper graphics pack which was supposed to come to all bedrock versions and then they gave up with that and we just got Minecraft RTX exclusively on Windows 10 instead which was then shortly abandoned after a couple of updates. We'll see if anything actually comes of it this time

If they just add ray tracing to Java they can abandon it if they want, then we'll have an awesome final version for modding. Ray tracing (and maybe some optimisation but that works well through mods) is all we need, content (like the last [many] updates) can be added so easily with mods.
