The first guess was pretty good in eliminating characters. The rest had too many possibilities to choose from, so (bad) luck was involved.

Getting ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ from a good starting word can be very useful. You get to try the ten best letters in two turns, and that isn't normally possible in hard mode.
