How come we don't still have the WPA (Works Project Agency) which created beautiful landmarks, damns and so on. Why did Roosevelt implement it? And why has no pres ever revived it? (lemmy.world)

Or even talked about it. It employed like a quarter of the country. Why hasn't anyone sense Rosie ever tried to enact something like it instead of us getting upset at unemployment numbers?
