I think they are very clear from the get go that this desktop cannot have replaceable ram. They mentioned that they talked to AMD and even LP-CAMM2 cannot support this chip.

Honestly personally I am fine as long as the ram upgrade price is reasonable and provide significant energy-consumption benefit. I don't think ram and CPU are components that are prone to failure.
