I'm mostly anarchist, but I'm pretty financially comfortable, e.g., I'm employed in a professional job, own my own home with no mortgage, own my own cars without loans, etc. I'm still opposed to authoritarianism though, and also capitalism in general, even if I don't see good ways to get away from either entirely.

We could, as a species, do some cool shit if we weren't so obsessed with personal profit and power. Like not genociding ourselves with destroying our only planet.

Reminds me of the potential solution to the Fermi paradox, where all life that has evolved to the point where humanity is now ends up killing itself off through habitat destruction prior to being capable of being an interstellar species.
