Typical cycle

Look for a community about a topic that is not on LW (because being able to use a VPN is always nice)
Community exists but mod is missing
Post to community
Community start's getting traction
Open call to the community for mods
No one jumps in
Admins don't like unmoderated active communities, so they appoint me as mod
Posts about offering mods positions, still nobody wants them
