I wasn't diagnosed until I was nearly 40 (๐๐๐). Teachers don't know what they're not taught.
I had the teachers/care givers who would give bad advise and had no idea how to help. It wasn't until later that I learned about stimming.
We need to educate the general public
Same, and both of my parents were teachers, at least one of whom is also autistic.
