Haha the amount of time I spend on Lemmy Ebbs and flows depending on work, family, how angry I want to be, Etc.
Down with the System has been a good read. I saw a system live when I was young, and was very much into the punk rock, Alt rock, numetal scene. When I went to University, and later education, a lot of that stuff got put behind me for some reason. And the last 5 years, my children have been asking what music I like to listen to and my middle child is very much taking a liking to the aggressive nature of the music that I like.
So not only has reading this book being enjoyable because I quite like the band, it's had a bit of a Renaissance on my music habits.
From a literary standpoint, it's been very interesting to hear the band came to be on how much Armenia and the Armenian Genocide has played a role in their lives (granted I'm only ¾ done).
The other book I'm excited about comma Is Joe Abercrombie's "Devils" book. I still have the last Trilogy For the first law world Comma but this one looks promising too.
Edit: while plot wise, not everyone loves the mistborn second era as much as the first. But for me, the characters were so much better and I enjoyed the second era more than the first. Your mileage may vary, but I love Wayne
Hehe, glad to see you rediscovering your favourite music.
I think I am done with Abercrombie, as much as I like his books, he is too cruel to his characters. Let me know if Devils is any different, but I doubt so.
Well, the second era isn't as dreary, so that's a big plus for me. I do miss the complete badass-ness and power of Vin and Kelsier though. But I have just read the first book yet, so let's see how it progresses. Liking Wayne quite a bit. He is weird. 😀
