Not quite the same series, but also Microsoft. Rise of Nations. Would be nice to see that one have a remake.

Anyway, Age of Empires 1. (Original edition) will always be my favorite, even though it’s not what people now should be playing.

That is definitely 2 Definitive. (With the Rome expansion bringing 1 DE into that game πŸ˜„)

I never played Rise of Nations or Empire Earth back in the day. But I've seen enough about them that I would love for either (or both!) of them to receive a good definitive edition.

Empire Earth was also nice indeed. But for current repeatability RoN definitely holds up much better. I think that one is still fun.

It's been a long time since I've played Empire Earth, but 0 A.D. satiates some of my EE nostalgia.

I guess, I should say that it started out as an AoE2 mod, and I never played an AoE game, so it could be a carbon-copy of AoE and my nostalgia wouldn't know it. 🫠

I haven't played it in a long time, but I did play a little 0 AD maybe a decade ago. I don't remember it super well, but from what I do remember it had some relatively significant differences from Age.

Ah, of course you're familiar. πŸ™ƒ

Nah it was a good game for you to bring up I feel. It's definitely the most closely-related game to Age that isn't Age. Heck, it belongs in this list more than Age of Empires: Mobile does.

And I'm not that familiar anyway. As I said, the last time I played was about a decade ago. And even that was probably not even 10 hours of play.
