My guess is a coin toss between peoples whos mental process went "murder bad, end process" or people who would happily take a turn driving the orphan crushing machine.

In either case, morons... Nuanced opinions are allowed, and that seems where the majority has landed, if they are a bit inconsistent.

(It’s not like a population would work poverty wages for decades if there weren’t a decent chance of driving a little orphan crushing)

If I could drive the machine, and we could crush maybe 5% fewer orphans, that's a win, right?
