Don't rely on melatonin pills because then your body stops making its own. Look at magnesium and zinc. Do that with a multivitamin (whose magnesium oxide and zinc oxide are hard to absorb) and you got everything.

I do have all of those in my cabinet, but wasn't aware they would help with falling/staying asleep. Def agree about not becoming dependent on melatonin supplements; I try not to over-do it, but sometimes when I have important stuff to do first thing in the morning, I don't want risk being a zombie from poor/no sleep.

Hmmm.

I got the magnesium supplement, but I didn't know about zinc oxide and I didn't know they were hard to absorb.

I better look up what foods those guys are in, make it a little snack before bed instead

Melatonin seems to have a negative impact on my sleep.

I should try multivitamins

I've had bad experiences with melatonin, but now I find it can be helpful in smaller doses. I cycle through a bedtime thc/CBD/melatonin sleep aid (Wonder Wellness Sleep), L-theanine, and melatonin, only taking one for tops a week at a time. That rotation seems to help.

Yeah magnesium has helped my restless leg syndrome and insomnia fairly well
