“Donald, if you’re watching, we’ll put your name on it. You get to be the American president who finally guaranteed health care for every single American.”

Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, the Democratic Senator-elect from Michigan who ran on a progressive platform with Medicare for All at its center, said Friday that he doesn’t care what the policy is called so long as it passes, even during Donald Trump’s lame duck term, which will begin in January.

Appearing on Zeteo with editor-in-chief Mehdi Hasan, El-Sayed was asked if he agreed with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who a night earlier pronounced that he wasn’t so sure that if Democratic majorities in the US House and Senate passed a Medicare for All Bill that Trump wouldn’t sign it.

“If he wants to pass Trumpcare-for-All, I’m ok with it. He seems to like to put his name on things,” said El-Sayed.

When Hakeem Jeffries says stuff like this it's terrifying because he's a scumbag corporate sell-out, but when Dr. Abdul says it I'm on board and can't wait to see what he comes up with, because he actually seems like a good dude we can trust to negotiate for us instead of corporate paymasters

Hakeem doesn't say stuff like this and that's why he needs to go.

Hakeem will describe vague notions of problems to be fixed with ultimate solutions that end up being "give health insurers more money".

Abdul is proposing the policy, medicare for all, and saying "but call it whatever you want". Hakeem will identify a problem, but ultimately will push dogshit policies that aren't popular.

That's part of why he's so much better.

Let's look at what Jeffries has said about healthcare in this country!

  • "we’ve established working groups [on] [...] healthcare"
  • "We’re going to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits"
  • "we’re going to lower costs and we’re going to save healthcare"

This shit means exactly what it does when he says we need to "reform ICE". Incremental improvements, no actual solution to the underlying problem.

The thing it works 1000x better with an El-Sayed or Mamdani, because they're actually cool.

trump openly complains about how everyone around him are losers, and those are the people he picks to spend all his time with.

Throw someone with even average charisma in that room, trump loves them. Jeffries/Schumer fucking suck, trump won't want to deal with them. He can't get enough of Mamdani, and El-Sayed will be the same.

trump legitimately wants to be loved, he's just a shitty person who doesn't know how to get it and like a toddler he'd rather have hate than nothing. Any attention is better than none

There's a difference between somefish who swims off-course get to where they need to go, and somefish who swims off-course to go somewhere else.

Funny how trust works, isn't it?

Don't tell them that the newly elected Dems are outnumbered by incumbents who voted for Jeffries may times.
