To congressional Democrats, Trump’s decision to promote aide Stephen Miller to serve as his chief of staff meant two things: an elevation of the aide’s extremist views and a refusal to heed the will of voters who delivered the left a historic victory.

“Stephen Miller is the architect of Project 2025, which included the push for ‘unitary executive power’ that Trump used to enrich himself and his billionaire buddies, enable the failed efforts of Elon Musk and DOGE [Department of Government Efficiency], the stripping of healthcare from millions of people, and the mass deportation agenda that led to ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] and CBP [Customs and Border Protection] killing people in the streets, separating families, locking up kids and gutting the legal immigration system,” Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), the ranking member of the House Judiciary subcommittee on immigration, said in a statement.

This dude was already a deputy chief of staff and was the brains behind a lot of the Trump administration's unpopular policies. I wouldn't be too scared of him getting a token promotion.

This is totally the case, he was already running all the horrible programs he wants to run. Now he's also going to be responsible for staffing the entire Trump Administration and keeping them organized. He doesn't have this skill, and the Trump Admin is likely to become even more dysfunctional as a result.

Plus he's not in the shadows anymore. More accountability, no plausible deniability... Guys like him get cooked in the light.

(No offense, true children of the night, I know you don't count him among you)

I love how this guy is so awful we need to acknowledge that literal vampires should not be stained by association with him

And that's really saying something considering how much they love to count.
