My dad was bald, so I knew there was a good chance it would happen to me. When I realized that as a teen, I found myself looking at bald guys and what looked good or bad. Comb-overs look bad. Bald on top with long hair looks bad. My dad wore a toupee (a good one), and it actually looked fine, but he was tied to it; he never wanted anyone to see him without it, and he had to wear the hair hat even when it was hot. The rogain type stuff was new when I was going bald, but I didn't trust a brand new drug, and I read that you had to take it forever or you'd lose whatever gains it provided.
In the end I decided that the only things that looked good were cutting it short or shaving it off. I tried shaving it once and didn't think it suited me, so I've just kept it short. Admittedly I had a period early on where I should have cut it shorter but was still holding on to a an old look even though it wasn't working.
If you were offered a free all-expense paid trip to Turkey for a hair transplant, would you do it at this point?
Nope, I'm happy the way it is, and the transplants often look off to me.
Fair enough, makes sense
