Okay, and? Are you claiming he supports them simply because he's not outright banned? I may be making mistake but I'm trying to find some logic here.

I will be honest. As someone who watches a lot of Hong Kong film. I have been extremely worried about such things happening to them. And being forced on to them. Which for the most part I have yet to see. I think it's probably coming sooner or later. But so far that's not the case.

Two years ago when Twilight of the Warriors came out and was getting crazy awesome reviews globally. I was actually pretty amazed to see how mainland China was allowed to be portrayed in that. Now that may just be because it was pre-dengism mainland china. Not the current gang of criminals in charge of the state. So they probably didn't have any big issue with it not being portrayed glowingly.

So how is this working for you? Is Blizzard and World of Warcraft a Chinese psyop? The World of Warcraft movie strangely was huge in China years ago too. Is this something other than reactionary cringe? Have you seen Stephen's movies? He does live action Looney toons and fantasy.

Stephen Chow has been appointed to China’s top political advisory body, the CCPCC. And yes, if you're a famous filmmaker across a nation which controls its media such as China, North Korea, or the USSR then 9 out of 10 times you're a bad person. The only exception is the people who refuse to continue working with those places and when the inevitably persecution arrives from that decision they flee the country.

Also, Fuck Activision and the WoW movie was dogshit. But at least it took value from Chinese coffers instead of the other way around.

  • he was appointed. Ie not something he pursued or sought after.
  • this is only provincial. Like being appointed by the Mayor or maybe governor to advise on the arts in your home town

Almost like calling Bernie Sanders a trumper because he's in the federal government. Not a perfect analogy with how controlling and oppressive the national party is. But not far off. The province appointing someone as well known, influential and popular as Chow makes a lot of sense. And if that's all it is, I fail to see the controversy.

I've seen you around. You would fail to see controversy if Xi Jinping personally came into your house and killed your favorite pet.

I also have you tagged as "Fact Troll", if that helps anybody else. 👍

😄. This guys is always on the precipice of my block list, I can never seem to pull the trigger because OP is just so idiotic yet not quite offensive enough.

FiniteBanjo. I try not to engage with that account because it's such a bad take troll account and disingenuous with their arguments but still amusing to read the absolute trainwreck that this user leaves behind.

Oh gosh. I thought you were FiniteBanjo replying to me. Sorry, I got confused. 😄

No worries man.

The Original Poster here is inclementimmigrant so I think he's self-owning.

OP isn't the one I have tagged as "Fact Troll". But okay, gotcha.

Edit: ah, I got confused because I didn't expect OP to reply to my comment. I'm caught up now.

Literally the appointment was 13 years ago. If there was anything actually controversial about it. You'd be pointing out more than the fact he was appointed. And if you'd seen me around. You'd know how hilarious implying I was a leninist or tankie was.. Lol they love to call me a shitlib for my constant criticism of china for rational reasons.
