Our galactic citizens have requested more specific rules, so here are a few.

The general idea is, if you're looking here for rules, you're probably someone who doesn't need to have them spelled out. You're fine. But anyway:

  1. This is a community for Star Wars memes. This means typically screenshots of Star Wars media with some text or context that's meant to be funny and/or thoughtful. All SW media is welcome: movies, games, comic books, fanart... Other kinds of content, like video links or meta memes (about this community, or Lemmy), are fine as well, just keep it on topic.

  2. We are all friends here, and love (sometimes love to hate) Star Wars. Be nice to each other.

  3. As fans of fictional media, we can be passionate. If you very strongly disagree with something or someone, take a deep breath before reacting. Anger leads to the dark side!

  4. Everything in Star Wars has happened a long time ago, in a galaxy far away, and it's a rich universe of millions of words and millions of years of history. So current Earthly matters really shouldn't concern us here. In other words, leave politics, philosophies and convictions behind the door. This applies even if it's about something related to Star Wars.

  5. Original content is preferred. Reposts are fine, just please limit to a maximum of 3 per day, per citizen. It is recommended, but not required, to mark original memes as (OC) and reposts as (repost).

  6. Local mods are the Jedi council. They may take actions that are necessary to maintain peace and stability of the Republic, even beyond the rules outlined here. Follow their guidance.

  7. Regular rules of the Lemmy.world instance apply.

TCW S6E10, “The Lost Ones”, was the last chance for the Jedi to avoid Order 66, and they utterly bungled it. To quote the last part of the episode as best I remember:

Yoda: “Know now we do, that guide the creation of the clones from the beginning, Dooku did. Hmm…our enemy created an army, for us.”

Mace Windu: “If this was known, public support for the war effort, the Jedi, and the Republic would vanish; there would be mass chaos.”

Y: “ Cover up this discovery, we must; no one, not even the Chancellor, may know. Valiant men, the clones have proven to be; saved my life, and yours, they have, many times. Believe in them, we must; win the war swiftly, we must, before our enemy’s designs reach completion…whatever they may be.”

MW: “Are you sure we’re taking the right path?”

Y: “Hmm…the right path, no. The only path…yes. Designed by the Dark Lord of the Sith, this web is. For now, play his game, we must.”

I know things had to be in line with RotS, but Jesus Fucking Christ.

The only thing that can stop a bad guy with the force is a good guy with the force. We would be a much safer society if everyone could use the force

That's why I'm voting for the Rey Palpatine/Broom Boy ticket! Make The Force Great Again!

Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.

Query: Did someone call for a good guy with a gun?

[–] OpenStars@discuss.online 1 points 2 days ago

That is neither a guy nor good... but it is a damn fine gun so carry on!

Incidentally there was an EU series kinda about that. I never finished it (lost the will after Disney came in), but one of the premises was around the Jedi going around creating messes for the government to clean up and the citizens being increasingly unhappy with the Jedi being an extra government authority.

All they had to do was listen to Fives.

Yoda a damn liberal. There is always another path.

Or Filoni is a hack given too much canonical freedom. One of those.
