we can't just fund states to do it? they're more than capable

In general, it's a good idea to have federal forces handling international borders. This administration aside.

Only if you want to make sure none of the states out-compete each other

You don't think ti's a good idea for a country to handle its borders? k, bud, whatever

Each state in the US is part of a federation. It isn't a province. Provinces are dependent on a central government. It's not exactly a confederation, but federal funding + state execution is the federal model. it's why we don't have us police, we don't have us education etc. We have state police. State education. Who maintains the interstate? The federal government gives funding to the states and each state handles it.

No fucking shit. What the fuck are you on about? You know this much and you somehow don't know that the feds handle the border? You are not that ignorant. Why are you pretending to be ignorant of how it works? Or maybe I don't fucking care.

I want the border to be solved like policing of all federal laws are done: with state police. Murder isnt solved with a federal murder team. DHS and ICE arent necessary to enforce immigration.

So you want fifty different agencies in charge of the border. And can't figure out why that's ridiculous. I'll give you but a single example: Fifty different sets of laws regarding entry is foolish.

Just the border states? They literally are the ones who deal with it. It is literally a local issue. Why does kentucky have to worry about the border? I live in Kentucky. We don't have a border issue. We don't need border patrol. Who said anything about legislation? I'm talking about enforcement. We have 50 different definitions of murder btw. And rape. And drunk driving. And prostitution. And drug dealing. And gay marriage. And abortion. But nope, the border issue is just too complex for states to tackle.

Get a grip of reality, bud.

You are a fucking moron. Goodbye. Jesus christ.

The rest of the world has customs and border patrol. We tried eaving each state doing federal duties on their own accord once and it didn’t work then. I don’t think it work now.
