Preface: What's happening in Gaza is fucking disgusting.

When you say this do you also take note of other atrocities happening?

7 million people are displaced in the Democratic People's Republic of Congo because of fighting over blood minerals like cobalt. China is directly buying these minerals contributing to this. When Myanmar launched clearance operations against the Rohingya minority which still happen to this day, China is the main supplier for this violence.

Now my question isn't is this okay, it's not.

My question is do you think the US, EU or UN should intervene in these situations? And do you think China should intervene in Gaza?

I just ask because when it comes to the US government people seem to want to say what you said to disqualify the democratic process of that country because they are selling arms and contributing financially to Gaza's destruction. But I never hear the same levied anywhere else at all ever. In fact on lemmy I see the complete opposite of people bringing up how China condemns the actions in Palestine, but never ask why China doesn't do more about it.

So do you think countries should intervene in genocidal actions across the globe if they have the financial and military means to do so? And do you feel the same degree of frustration for the people of DRC or the Rohingya minority?

"sinophobic"

What makes it sinophobic? China directly dumps money towards the cobalt mining in the Democratic Republic of Congo. These activities are often non-compliant or entirely illegal. The money also reinforces the actions and incentives violence for control. You're just wanting to grant China a pass? Exactly what I'm talking about.

Also didn't answer my question. Should the US, UN or EU intervene?
