Doesn't intelligence require concioussness? If so, the metaphor would be better comparing f1 car with a matchbox model of it.

afaik it's more the other way around, the leading theory i've heard is that consciousness emerges from conflicting cognitive processes (spotting food next to a predator) to arbitrate in the interest of self-preservation
