Rules:
- Post only links to articles. Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.
Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.
Example:
- Articles must be relevant to US politics and contain quality and original content. Social Media adjacent hosts like Substack are allowed, but ONLY if they tie back to a company/subsidiary. No personal or friend group blogs and no self-promotion. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and re-hosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing other users of being bots or paid actors.
- No memes, trolling, misinformation, or low-effort posts/comments (including reposts). If you see posts like this that anger you, do not engage. Report, block, and live a happier life than they do. Any slap-fight is subject to comment removals. Fights full of rule violations will result in temporary bans to cool off.
- No manipulating votes via bots or alt accounts; this will result in permanent bans. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in an account ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be permanently banned.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules and use critical thinking when reading, posting, and commenting. Users that repeatedly have comments or posts removed, weaponize reports, or violate the code of conduct, will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users. The reason(s) behind moderator action(s) are publicly available through the Modlog.

She sounds like one of those conservatives that is just fine with lording it over others when donnie is doing something terrible to other people, but then acts all hurt when people decided to cut ties with them: "why did they have to do this? All over politics? They cannot still just get along?"
Yeah, they love to pretend to not know that nearly everything is "politics" and they act totally hurt and confused when they get any consequences for their behaviors and their choices.
It's the same people that will say something wildly racist or bigoted. Then complain that you can't take a joke if you call them out.

Someone at work kept pretending he didn't understand how people were telling him he was using company equipment to send out political content and to not do it again.
What he sent out via work email was a calculator on what the typical taxpayer could expect to pay for some measure on the ballot. People kept explaining to him that what he was sharing is inherently one-sided. You are only telling people what that measure would (allegedly) cost, without explaining how that would benefit society, or individuals, or their kids. Not only that, but the supposed math on that cost and the veracity and good faith of the site itself? Who knows.
He kept saying if people want to understand how it may benefit (which he would sarcastically intone when spoken - the scare quotes were there every single time he said it) they could read the ballot measure, since it explains what it does, but people should know what it would cost them.
He couldn't understand that the dry language on the ballot is not really explaining all the potential upsides to society in general, etc.
I'm sure you could already guess that he's a conservative and voted R all the time...he was completely outraged when people asked him to provide something that explained how the measure would do good things. Suddenly, his gaslighting pretense of merely being "apolitical" and "just providing tools that give people data" fell to pieces. He had zero interest in providing any data on the upsides. Weird how that works.
I think conservatives genuinely believe that they are normal and anyone who objects to anything they say or do is political.
You are absolutely correct. They think any deviation from their norm is radical socialism. It's why they think they're not homophobic as long as nothing is actively being the slightest bit gay. If it's out of their comfort zone, even slightly, it's "wrong"
Probably explains why they have been absolutely serious, for decade upon decade, in claiming that "liberal media" is a thing. The con has their positions on things, and they are far to the right on the broader political spectrum, and the American spectrum as well.
When the "liberal media" reiterates all the right wing assumptions about the world, they don't notice or think it is "political". The minute they report something factual that conflicts with their extremist position, then that's "political".
Liberal Media was always a term made up to scare media companies to the Right, and it worked.. They still use the term (They think CNN is anything other than Right Wing for some reason)
I'm old enough to remember when the cons would call CNN "Clinton News Network", implying that CNN only covered Clinton in glowing terms, because, OFC, they are so very liberal.
I found that a great "just asking questions" thing was to just innocently ask: "Clinton News Network? You mean, CNN, the network that made its name covering the first time we attacked Iraq?"
Cons really don't like it when you ask questions like this, because questions really ruin their Peak Comedy moments like calling CNN "Clinton News Network".
