In the court battle today, the report said, "The White House singled out six stories published by POLITICO, including a June 2026 article that cited a 'senior administration official' who put the odds of the U.S. striking a deal with Iran to end the war at between 80 and 85 percent." This was characterized as some sort of leak that endangered national security.

However, according to Status, that "senior administration official" was Vance, who was "speaking on a background call with reporters authorized by the White House," and had been granted anonymity by the press pool.

So, was this intentional? Vance gives out some "anonymous" information, and then when it inevitably gets published, they accuse the media of "leaking" national security details, in order to justify punishment?

Dude, all this shit is so exhaustingly childish. I know it's part of their strategy, and it's pretty effective tbh. Their moral compass is so foreign to mine that we might as well be different species. Out of this world even.

That said, I think they might actually be starting to find out after fucking around for so long. They've fucked up pretty bad.

And THAT said, we can't fuck around with holding them accountable if they actually lose power. We did that last time and we've found out, though I think anyone with at least two functioning braincells could foresee the consequences at the time. Trump and his underlings have caused crimes against humanity and we really can't afford to be squeamish about punishing accordingly.

Of course. They used the unofficial mechanisms in place to leak info they want leaked to the press, to setup that same press.
