Its my fault for coming to lemmy hoping for some mindless escapism. I get gut punched each time I open my feed. My understanding of the world shows me a bleaker, more disgusting image every time. I appreciate you sharing this and opening my eyes, thanks.
For you it's mindless scrolling. For us it's daily life. Help us.
You either gotta use an app/front-end with filters, or accept having your mind expanded, be it for good or ill (or both, since one can lead to the other).
I prefer the second option 99/100, but I do have an app that's heavily filtered for when I just can't bear the ugliness of the world for a few hours.
Knowing the truth is important. So is staying strong enough to fight. Part of staying strong enough to fight is tending to your emotional well-being.
Please take breaks when you need. Friendship and sunsets and butterflies still exist. Use them as often as you can🫂

I used to frequent 9gag when it was mostly ragecomics, countryballs etc. (and also quite some time after that), but nowadays its just xenophobia, racism and incels.
