A place to discuss and support all Steam Hardware, including Steam Deck, Steam Machine, Steam Frame, and SteamOS in general.
As Lemmy doesn't have flairs yet, you can use these prefixes to indicate what type of post you have made, eg:

If your post is only relevant to one hardware device (Deck/Machine/Frame/etc) please specify which one as part of the title or by using a device flair.
These are not enforced, but they are encouraged.

- Posts must be related to Steam Hardware or Steam OS in an obvious way.
- No piracy, there are other communities for that.
- Discussion of emulators are allowed, but no discussion on how to illegally acquire ROMs.

But that would have been in response to non streaming, where the headset handles everything. I'm talking about non streaming.
Several people around here keep claiming valve said the hardware in it was pretty much the same hardware needed for a streaming only design, but no one has actually been able to provide a source of them saying it, and it sounds like BS in a rumor mill at this point. Especially because it doesn't make any sense.
*Edit: See. Silent downvotes and no links of anyone from valve claiming that pretty much these specs were required for a streaming only system.

Yes. It affirms that there's a bunch of fan boys in here that are parroting off what they heard from other fan boys and that there is nothing from valve saying they needed the same spec to make a streaming only system work.

I'm already in an argument with someone else on here due to me being skeptical about needing the same amount of RAM for streaming as running native.
