All of Africa would be without civilization, just isolated pockets of Asians and white people on trips to find themselves, now without local guides. They're all going to die unless the remaining governments organize rescue missions. You would hear about this.

Without civilization, it becomes difficult to sustain farms and mines, so even if governments fly in farmers, farm hands and miners to claim the fields and mines, the plants will wither and the mines will barely run. While I imagine most crops are produced for the local market that also died, African products for the global economy, chocolate, palm oil, gold and uranium, will see their prices shoot through the roof in anticipation of the inevitable crop failure and ore shortages. You would hear about this.

Inevitably, unclaimed land with huge amounts of profitable farmland and mines will receive claims, from China, who invested a lot into local infrastructure, former colonial powers reinstating their borders, or whatever remains of Arabian states whose populations didn't qualify, and also whoever could fly in some pioneers and reestablish trade routes. That will result in border frictions, skirmishes and maybe full on war. It's possible you would miss the war, I personally always forget the US-Iran war is still happening, so I'll give you that. US would probably stay out of that one, trying to restart its own agricultural industry.
