I usually can do these stereoscopic pics pretty easy, but I found this one to be harder! Maybe the resolution is too small? I eventuality got it to work on my phone (granted, it isn't a normal phone and has a huge screen) and it seems like it's a crossview and not a parallel view.
Check out c/ParallelView and c/CrossView to see the differences and see what works best for you! For me, parallel view is the best and easiest to do. Cross view on the other hand, is always an inverted perspective for me and I have never gotten that to work properly. What I do is relax my eyes so I see double and apply that when looking at these pics. Usually my brain auto adjusts it and it just works. Look up tutorials on it, it even works with videos!
Never understood why anyone thought to make these things in parallel when crossing your eyes is infinitely easier.
Wow that's so strange and interesting how it can be the polar opposite for some people. I'm really curious about this stuff as none of my friends or family can do either of them. Does parallel look inverted to you then? How does it look to you? I wonder if parallel works easier for me because I am near sighted or wear glasses or something, because all I need to do is just relax my eyes and it instantly focuses for me. Takes 2 seconds or less for it to work. Depending how big the picture size is I'll simply move my phone screen away from me, which helps a bit.
It's usually harder when there is distracting elements in the view. Like the Enterprise, sitting on top of this stereogram. Brain has a harder time to figure what to focus on.
Yep. Had to view in landscape orientation and zoom in to crop out those elements. Bonus was that moved the patterns further apart, making it easier to lock on (and fire photon torpedoes).
