Apple is not a competitor for anthropic/openai, it's competitor to nvidia. Latest mac studio is very local AI capable, with 256gb uram and upcoming 512gb, while not terrible inference speed.
They are selling shovels, basically.
Their previous model has been to sell hardware, rent media, and give software away.
Did this change?
Idk, isn't that what we were talking about? I'm not taking much for granted these days.
