I think you lack context. This behavior goes back a long time (at least until 1998-99 when my wife and I did our backpacking trip around the world).

Not only are they mostly gungho and rude, they tend to take over entire hostels or hotels, and threaten anyone who asks them not to do karaoke at 3:00 in the morning.

Many nations have a "type" of traveler: Canadians consistency considered the best, Dutch too stingy, British atavistic, Aussies/Kiwis friendly and fun loving, etc. It's been like this for literally decades.

The one time I was international, unless you count canada, which I never do, the german tourists would just cut in line waiting to see like pyramid ruins in the americas.

I've been told the Israelis are way worse. And read of incidents of them physically beating up people, including locals, over criticism of their country. Of course the US uses it's influence to get them off, and to crucify the ones the tourists targeted f possible.

I am Dutch, and unfortunately yes…Dutch tourists are very stingy.
