In a normal and functioning democracy this would have ended in an absolute scandal, journalists would be able to stop writing about this, there'd he riots in the streets, and...

Well, this is the US, it'll just blow over in under 24 hours and even until then, nobody will care enough to give enough fucks to do something about it

Functioning democracies sometimes have riots to keep them functioning

Then you have a functional proletariat, not a democracy lol. Why would the minority riot the majority rule?
