For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.
No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.
Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.
Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

The basic argument is that the voting boxes get audited but not the ups, the uninterrupted power supply, and that can get over the air updates from starlink.

All claims no evidence. Very difficult if not impossible to do forensic analysis on.
That just sounds completely tech illiterate. A UPS is just a battery. There's no integration with the actual electronics of a computer. This is just technobabble.
Something something tech illiteracy.
If the UPS monitoring is plugged in via USB that’s all the attack vector needed. Good chance they had ethernet as well.
That would actually be easy to overlook in a large data center too. Those are not just batteries. There are at least some controls in it to report to monitoring and also to make all that abnoxious noise.
I mean I don't think either of us actually know that for these particular voting machines. There absolutely plenty of UPS systems where the system is in constant communication with its UPS.
