I can’t help but think all the tangentially positive stuff coming out about Ozempic is just marketing.

Being obese is just really fucking destructive to the body, so a drug that helps with that will have a lot of positive effects.

I mean it’s an absurdly good medicine, and the first time we’ve had a harmless way to prevent overeating, which causes incalculable misery.

Someone described it as turning off “food noise,” so you’re not constantly hungry. Now we need a way to put exercise in a pill.

I think you've hit the nail on the head... how much of these "benefits" are just natural outcomes from losing weight? When the body isn't fighting all the extra weight, it can naturally heal itself more efficiently.

Ozempic has reduced the amount of manipulative marketing you see, too, and also your favorite dead childhood pet is somehow alive again and waiting at your back door thanks to Ozempic!

Is Ozempic what caused the Pet Sematery?

[–] BooBees@fedinsfw.app 2 points 2 days ago

The stuff about it helping with various addiction situations is real. But I don’t suspect it’s a good idea to use it off label for that. Just that it’s one of the many side effects.

I feel the same but then again I did about statins and eye surgery.
