nike bought converse, cheapened the build and materials for the chucks, and sells the original build as a premium, vintage model
Is that why I vividly remember my cons lasts forever as a kid but a few months as an adult? Goddamn..
Japanese converse are still quality. Nike didn't win the rights to it there. So if youre ever in Japan pick some quality ones up.
But I felt them narrower, not sure if it's the case but shoes here are usually wider.
So much clothing, northpole sweatshirts, timberland boots, wrangler jeans .. All are low quality today
Sadly, it's not the original build. This is part of the grift. They just reset the loop of enshitification back to somewhere that was noticeably "better" than it is now, but never back to the original. Because if they take you too far, you will be able to directly compare and realize just how truly shit it has gotten.
These day's all the vintage models are basically the premium versions. Same with cars!
And what the hell happened to Vans? They used to be built better too. Now I can buy the same size as my old ones and they won’t fit quite right.
