I love that you can just interact with people who’ve been brainwashed by different propaganda from yourself on here. It can give you perspective on your own inherent biases, even if they’re not as severe as giving the ML Pass to dictators who are not even vaguely communist.

Blocking hexbear has nothing to do with a difference in ideas. Hexbear gets blocked because it hosts communities of some of the most obnoxious, unrepentant trolls known to the internet. Lemmygrad and .ml get blocked because said trolls made alts when instances got fed up and defederated from hexbear.

It's like the Khmer Rouge's version of 2004s era /b/. There is nothing to be gained from interacting with those people.

I remember hearing that Hexbear was made after the 3rd(?) time r/chaptraphouse was caught evading community bans and migrated there.

For those unaware, r/chaptraphouse was the "left wing" equivalent to r/The_Donald

And if/when you're sick of it, you can block it all by server, as opposed to centralized social media where you have to block every nazi sock puppet in the universe individually.

I actually have .world blocked because it gets tiresome interacting with people who assume that your country is somehow subject to US cultural norms and laws by default.

Funny. I've looking into blocking your instance because >90% of the users I've run into were assholes

Well you can just do that, so fill your boots! Though you should note that as it’s Australia we’re actually arseholes.
