It's either to keep posts from getting removed or demonetized/out of the algorithm. Facebook and Insta do that iirc.

People get revenue from Twitter posts? My god, if I ever heard of a job that doesn't contribute to society even a little bit.

They recently switched to a program that rewards ppl for original posts instead of impressions, so reposts and stuff won't work anymore (hopefully)
