Has anyone in a windows dominated workspace actually tried using Linux on their device? (sh.itjust.works)

I'm wondering how this actually works. I don't think our IT team would ever allow it, but even if they did, you'd have to be able to run everything M$ (Teams, excel, etc), onedrive/sharepoint, windows specific software like CAD, Bluebeam, use Chrome-only software like Autodesk stuff -

It seems kind of dumb to even do that, since you'd be locked into that M$ ecosystem anyway. But I'm curious if anyones done it.

I did.

I use a cUSBC caddy with a 1TB M2 NVME SSD where I installed Aurora Linux. This setup allows me to leave the Windows license and the actual PC factory new, with the OEM license intact. I set the BIOS to boot to that drive first.

That's all. Pure happyness.

Thats interesting. I am sure many companies lock the bios to prevent booting off USB though.
