This combines fixed wing and helicopters, Look up the stats on remote bush pilots and helicopter pilots it makes a lot more sense

Fail to land correctly a commercial plane. Either:

  • 200 to 400 people die, including you (passenger plane)
  • You and your crew die, and almost all of the cargo is wasted (cargo plane)
  • You and your crew still die, but also a public figure and their agents/family/friends/cronies (private jet).

Fortunately landing a plane is only done by the most trained experts.

Flying the plane is statistically safest way of travel. Dying as a pilot is far less likely than dying in car accident. Even if you count all the passangers, flying is still safer than driving a car.

I want to die in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming in terror like his passengers.
