I've been using AI similar way. It works for kinda brute forcing the problem as long as you know somewhat if it's going to right direction. Almost like guiding junior dev trough a hard problem. Also local AI mentioned but the problem with that is the hardware you need to run large(r) models that can actually solve any real problems and not just try to pass something completely idiotic as solution.

You are right, but the creator of Linux, who is depending on AI to fix his own invention's bugs, feels weird. It also reveals the disturbing ways that AI can influence the human mind and their abilities.

They are decidedly not depending on AI, but using it. Most people find tool use acceptable. You are using one right now.
