Nope, nope, nope. I've witnessed the inverse of this, and it was not good. Absolutely deadly levels of cringe.

The GM was infatuated with one of the players, and forced a romantic/sexual encounter on them, in front of their partner. It was super uncomfortable.

Most of us were co-workers, including the GM and his... target. We all got to see each other 6 days a week.
Jeez, it just keeps getting worse >.<

I had only found out about the history between the GM and the player after the previous session, where I noticed the GM being kind of weird towards this player. It turns out, he was being weird because he had just learned that she started dating this other guy at our table.
I got brought up to speed after that session -- including the fact that the player had asked others to not intervene, and to just let her handle it -- and then got the front seat experience for the... well, the thing.
The campaign did not survive long after that session.

Echedelle (she/her) Uhh, no? I didn't say anything about anyone involved being monogamous. I have no idea if anyone involved was monogamous or not.
Not everyone wants to get with just anybody else. Some folks just have standards.
Even if you're poly, some people just don't want to be around that at the time.
