I've been spending a lot less time on YouTube than I used to. I've started downloading music and radio operas from Archive.org, sometimes I browse loops.video and what not.
I occasionally think "I wonder what Legal Eagle is up to" or "I bet corridor has a new video by now" or even "Did Recklessben win at court?" but it's definitely not a daily occurrence and I hardly ever watch things it recommends anymore.
For what it's worth, I think legal eagle is also on nebula, so you can avoid YouTube that way.
I use ytdl-sub so I dont need to access YouTube directly to check that!
Whether you use a downloader, an alternate frontend, or an ad-blocker the results are pretty much the same.
Somewhat, for me its because its (supposed to be) a set and forget system, and when i wanna see what's new I just open jellyfin to check.
