Sounds like they were hoping for an out of court settlement that would make Trump a quick billion and they were in "any day now" mode, not expecting someone to fight back. The whole Strait of Hormuz thing went exactly the same.
Anyone who thought the BBC, which is funded by TV taxes paid by regular Britons, was going to be allowed to pay that dipshit’s bribe, should apply for the new attorney general spot.
