What is Inktober?

Inktober is an annual month-long event when a prompt word will be posted for each day of October.

What is Inktober 52?

Inktober 52 is what happens during the months that aren't October. A new prompt will be posted once a week (typically Thursdays.)

How do I join in?

Simply draw by hand something based on or inspired by the prompt word. It can be inked traditionally (on paper,) or with a digital "ink" brush. The drawing can be anything from a simple doodle to an elaborate illustration. The color of the ink is negotiable.

Rules

  1. Be kind. Constructive criticism at most, if requested. We welcome artists of all skill levels and varying levels of free time to commit. This community is meant to encourage people to create art.

  2. No AI-Generated work The marks in your work must be physically drawn by (your) hand.

  3. Submissions must meet the theme of this community Your work must be based on the given prompt. Late work based on expired prompts are still eligible for submission.

From Inktober.com:
Jake Parker created Inktober in 2009 as a challenge to improve his inking skills and develop positive drawing habits. It has since grown into a worldwide endeavor with thousands of artists taking on the challenge every year.

It's begun! This post will house the Day 1 Inktober submissions. You're free to create a separate post for your own stuff if you wish, or you can post it as a comment below. I will corral any individual posts and post them here as a comment by Day 2. Rinse and repeat.

  1. Please remember to be kind. All skill levels are welcome here.
  2. AI art is not allowed.
  3. Submissions must be based on the daily prompt, but either traditional or digital mediums are welcome.

Thank you in advance, and let's have fun! :)
