No shit, Sherlock. There are tons of different causes for asthma. But yeah: daily inhaling half-burned hydrocarbons is likely one of them.
So what's the next approach of the Captain Obvious institute? Healing asthma by getting patients to quit smoking? Would probably work in a lot of cases... nicotine addiction is still common. I wouldn't call it research though.
