For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

What's with those oligarchs becoming offended by modern times? What did they all drank to abandon human rights and liberties?

They say money corrupts, but it's intersting that a majority of billionaires became extremely right wing after some time.

If you spend any time consuming the BtB podcast, the running theme on young, privileged men who end up with astronomical amounts of money is stunted emotional growth and development.

Also. When you believe your vote/opinion weighs more than those without your billions of dollars, democracy isn’t ok. One vote? The same as Theresa working as a maid for the Marriott? Or Samantha, the mechanic that fixes my BMW? The fuck you say. We’re not equal and thus should not have the same number of votes. Hence the market for buying politicians.

I mean, i get it. My vote technically counts less than a drug addict in Ohio. Before Trump that wasn’t a concern of mine. Now? The fuck you say… they are the ones voting for these people!

And a vote in Wyoming is worth literally more than a thousand of my votes. It’s a joke “democracy” created and run by slavers.

I think they were corrupted from the get go and that lack of morality and human empathy let them pile so much money.

Keeping the 'lower orders' squabbling amongst themselves is their best chance of maintaining their position, racism and other staples of the right tend to achieve this outcome.

Since many are pushing the narrative surreptitiously anyway, a few decide that they stand to benefit by positioning themselves as figureheads (and ultimately as prospective rulers/kingmakers) in addition to this.

Add into this the capacity for exploitation necessary for someone to become a billionaire; which often involves abstracting people down to numbers and the like in the first place; and...

They have always been corrupt.

Trumpism.

The majority of multibillionaires ~~are US American~~ rely on the US American system, administration and economy.

But in a way being against labor rights and social security and taxes in general is intrinsic to be ing very very rich, regardless of country or leadership.

Plus, being that rich requires an unhealthy level of greed and a need for validation etc. In other words, being super rich is a mental illness.

Are we counting billionaire immigrants as American? Because, culturally, they are not and never will be.

The worst of these fucking people are African! Followed by Australian and kiwi!
