Pointing to your reasoning for why people get attracted to young or underage children (below 18),
I think of this a lot:
While we have decided 18 is the age the people become "grown ups" and I totally agree that having sex with minors is totally bad and unacceptable in today's society, the human race's age of sex has always started from around 9 for females and 14 for males. Hell, 3, 4 generations before us would be married and have kids by 13-15 so it's not really that far.
Thousands of years, men would marry and reproduce with girls as young as 9. And for their situation and time, we honestly can't say it was particularly wrong. They needed to reproduce as much as possible as soon as possible because of population and life expectancy.
So these stuff are etched into our genetics and we have to fight it and wipe it away slowly in many generations.
I know some people might hate hearing this. And again, pedophilia and sex with minors is horrible and I'm not justifying it. Just a thought.
