It hurt most when my sister told me that she voted for him. Most of my family did but I didnt know that at the time.

My family aren't bad people but this post makes me realize more that I just dont want to talk to them.

Dont want to be reminded that they voted for trump twice.

That I wasnt smart enough or trusted enough or just there enough to stop it.

Even if I could have, the media machines had them. PA suburbs bleed into country.

I dont know...I just remember listening to a 3-4 part podcast about Trump, in 2016, when most people knew that he was a slum lord and a weasle.

Anyway, im listening to this podcast on my sister's couch just stupified that he won and I say, "Knowing all this I can't believe this is who got elected."

And her just saying, "Well I voted for him."

I just...it hurts man. And every time im there is have to pretend it doesn't.

"Look, my family aren't bad people. All they did was turn their heads when the Nazis came door to door looking for people. It's not like they PERSONALLY did any of that. They just wanted the economy working again."

Don't pretend. Stop trying to not rock the boat. The kindest thing you can do for your loved ones is to help them find their way out of the darkness, you can't do that if you won't acknowledge reality, to their face.

My family aren’t bad people

They are if they still support him. Can't ride the fence on this one. It's gone too far. Ignorant people can also be bad people.

dude they are bad people, think of the wives of the guards at Auswitz, looking after hearth and home, That's your sister.

Hey friend, you're not alone in that pain. But please don't let the hurt and anger blind you. We don't talk about weasels like that. Comparing them to Trump like that is unreasonably cruel to weasels.

Their actions aren't your fault, don't beat yourself up about it.
